37. You didn’t pull any punches
Well I came out swinging any you didn’t pull any punches. Now I’ve been defeated and you saw the cards that I held.
Simple is sweetest…
The prompt for this week was:
“didn’t pull any punches”
Another burn the midnight oil, under the gun submission.. I had worked on a song for an hour and decided to scrap it with 30 minutes left on the clock.
Here’s what I got!
Thanks for listening! 👆👂🙏
Lyrics:
Well I came out swinging
And you didn’t pull any punches
Now I’ve been defeated
And you saw the cards that I held
I tasted of the bittersweet medicine you shared
Took it straight upon my chin now that’s a scar I bare
I scoured my heart in the dark and saw it for myself
That lately I’ve been overthinking, maybe you could help…
Maybe you you could help…
We made it to Ohio and we had an awesome time at one of my oldest friends weddings. I was asked to play music for their cocktail hour and also learned their love song to perform while everyone sat down for dinner! It was a blast. A lot of of work to learn their song as it was a British hip hop track with about four pages of rapping haha. All went well for me and when I finished, Carolina and I got to enjoy the night together. After the wedding we even went back to my parents who were watching Benjo and got him to sleep super quick- caro is a wizard. Then we went back out to the after party which was at Fulton Farms market- a place where I grew up as a kid riding dirt bikes and four wheelers, fishing, shooting guns, and smoking weed for the first time! 🤣 We stayed out til one AM and had a blast. It’s the longest that we’ve been together without Benjo since he was born, my only regret is we should have stayed longer on the dance floor! I love dancing with Carolina..
Now we have until October 23rd until we head back to Colombia, and it feels like we finally have the time to focus on more of our goals and keep building toward our dreams.
Shout out to Benjo’s grandparents for being so great with him and giving caro and I some time to reorganize ourselves and our life together!
We’re getting ready for the Purpose Spark family gathering in October, a wholesome weekend campout full of magic and connection.
I also launched the registration for a new game, 12 songs in 12 weeks! Starting October 2nd we’re starting a fresh songwriting group to close out the final quarter of 2024 with a bang!
If you’re interested in join us for the family gathering, or signing up for the new round of the game, just let me know! Would love to share more with you.
As always, thanks for walking with me.
